πŸŽ‰The Day My Words Went Live: Release Day Emotions Unleashed

Release Day Reflections – July 24, 2025

Today has been overwhelming—in the best way possible. I’m filled with so many emotions: excitement, gratitude, nervousness… all of it. I woke up early this morning just thanking God, praying over this day that has finally come. July 24th. My book is officially published and live on Amazon.com. I can’t believe I’m saying that—my book is out in the world!

When I got to work, I couldn’t help myself. I logged on right away to see if everything was live. And when I saw it, my anxiety went through the roof. I already had most of my social media posts prepped, but I still had to update everything with the live links. My heart was racing, my hands were shaking—I had to tell myself to calm down and just take it one step at a time.

Once I got everything updated, I emailed my friends and family the new link. Then it hit me—I had to tell my coworkers, too. One of them walked past my office, and I tried to share my news, but I was so nervous I completely blanked on my own poet name. I had to repeat it two or three times before I got it right! I can’t remember the last time I was this nervous speaking in front of someone. Back in college, I did presentations all the time, and even at work I have to speak to groups, but this is different. This is me talking about my work, my emotions, my poetry. It just feels more vulnerable.

And now, reality is setting in: tomorrow I’ll be reading one of my poems out loud at a coffee shop. I haven’t performed in over 10 years, so I picked one of the shortest poems from my book and I’m just going to see how I do. Honestly, I’m nervous, but I’m also ready to just go for it.

One thing I’m really excited about is connecting with another poet who will also be reading tomorrow. It feels good to step back into that poetry atmosphere again, to be around creative energy like that.

Wish me luck—you’ll definitely hear from me after the event. Who knows, you might even get a video of my performance!

I want to say thank you to everyone who’ve, purchased, spread the word, congratulated me on my new book.

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽˆThe Day Has Come: She Speaks... Finally! πŸŽ‡πŸŽ‡πŸŽ†πŸŽ†

Y’all…

This moment has been a long time coming.

I’ve cried over these pages. Laughed with them. Argued with them. Hid from them. Returned to them like old love. And today—today—I get to share them with the world.

My debut poetry book,
Da Passionate Poet that Spits Fiya Presents: Feelin' Some Type of Way: A Poet's Emotional Confessions Across Time,
is officially LIVE on Amazon.

Let that breathe for a second.

For years, I’ve been carrying these words in my spirit—sometimes too afraid to say them out loud. Sometimes too overwhelmed by life to even try. But the pen never let me forget who I was. It kept whispering: “Tell the truth. Even when your voice shakes.”

This collection is exactly that—my truth.
Unfiltered. Untamed. Unapologetically me.

From teenage heartbreak to grown-woman resilience. From silence to fire. From journals to the page you’ll now hold in your hand. This is a time capsule of my becoming.

And baby, I’m still becoming.

If you've ever felt misunderstood, heavy-hearted, in love with the wrong one, or standing in your own power for the first time… this book is for you.

To those who’ve been rocking with me—thank you.
To those just discovering me—welcome.
To the version of me who was scared to be seen—I see you now, and I love you out loud.

Go grab your copy. Read it slow. Let it simmer.
And when you feel it? Tell somebody.

Because the Passionate Poet that Spits Fiya
has finally spoken.

πŸ’» Digital Daydreams & Emotional Echoes

 Digital Daydreams & Emotional Echoes

by Da Passionate Poet that Spits Fiya

With Stormy Conditions approaching,
I decided to jump back into The World of Cyber Dating—again.
So I Reignited my profile page
and browsed through all the Masculinity that looked like possible matches for me.
I keep Imagining Him—my suitable match, that is.
But no one measured up to Him.
Was it just Wishful Thinking on my part?
To hope I’d have better luck this time around?
Or am I stuck in An Erotic Illusion
that keeps giving me Shards of Hope Beneath the Surface?
I’m tired of being In My Feelings,
with all My Explainable Rage trapped inside me.
Click after click,
the selection started to decline.
I grew frustrated.
I told myself,
“Just Stop, We’re Good.”
Maybe it’s Better
to be Trapped in a Symphony of Silence
than to spiral into another episode of Echoes of Regret in the New Year.
But just as I was about to close the app,
a chime interrupted my meltdown.
A match.
I took a deep breath,
opened the message…
and smiled.
So far,
I like what I’m seeing—and reading.
Victory… finally, a Step in the Right Direction.

πŸ’¬ If you were paying close attention, you might’ve noticed…

That story-poem wasn’t just a random musing—it was laced with actual titles from my upcoming collection.

Each bolded phrase is the name of a poem you’ll find inside Feelin’ Some Type of Way: A Poet’s Emotional Confessions Across Time.

They weren’t dropped in just for flair—these titles are emotional timestamps from real moments in my life.

Section Titles Sneak Peek in New Poetry book

Hey My Passionate Readers,

We are less than a week away before my debut poetry book will hit Amazon (Kindle orders can receive their copy now ) and I wanted to give you a sneak peek of what you will be experiencing when you start to read these confessions.  Feelin' Some Type of Way: A Poet's Emotional Confessions Across Time Poetry Book is seperated into five sections.   Its like taking an emotional journey with five pit-stops.  The break down each section is as follows:

1. Confessions of the Heart

This section lays bare the raw, unfiltered truths — the longings, secrets, and silent aches that have lived inside the poet’s chest. It is where vulnerability meets the page without hesitation.

These are the verses where love exposed its flaws, and desire dared to speak first.

2. Souls Unrevealed

Here, the poems uncover what was once hidden — the inner workings of identity, spirit, and selfhood. It’s a quiet revealing of pieces long buried or silenced.

In this space, the soul peeks through the cracks — not to be saved, but to be seen.

3. Echoes of Healing and Hurt

A section that holds the tension of pain and recovery. The poems echo the poet’s scars, the triggers, the breakthroughs, and all the messy truths in between.

Healing is not linear. Sometimes it bleeds, sometimes it breathes.

4. Reflection and Recovery

These pieces explore lessons, clarity, and the stillness after the storm. The poet looks back with new eyes — softer, wiser, but still learning.

These are the moments where silence taught more than sound ever could.

5. Becoming Whole Again

The final section is a reclamation. Wholeness here doesn’t mean perfection — it means owning every version of the self. The poet rises, reshaped but not erased.

This is where the fire turns into light. Where the poet finally speaks — not just to be heard, but to be felt.

Meaningful Monday

If I could describe Feelin’ Some Type of Way, poetry collection in three words (no explanations — just vibes), what would they be?

Sensual

The image on the cover alone (e.g. a woman lying on a bed, legs crossed with on glasses, journaling) suggest intimacy, softness, and physical awareness — a quiet sensuality that’s aesthetic and personal, not overtly sexual.

Emotional

My work deeply reflects personal confessions, emotional depth, and vulnerability. The tone and pacing of each poem paired with the title “Feelin’ Some Type of Way: A Poet’s Emotional Confessions Across Time,” show how emotion drives the entire experience.

Unapologetic

Finally, being in a space to speak my emotional truth, I am proud of the woman I have become through all my trials and triumphs.  I have found the confident through my own poetic voice, there’s a clear sense of reclaiming space and speaking truth without filtering or shrinking.

🌊 A Breath, A Cleanse, A Reset

After a stressful first half of the year, I know I’m not alone in saying this: we are ready for summer.
Vacation vibes, family trips, sisterhood getaways — this is the season for stepping away to reconnect and reset.

I just returned from a family beach trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. And let me tell you, the older I get, the more I cherish those slow, peaceful, soul-restoring vacations — the kind where I’m either on the beach or lounging in someone’s pool or hot tub. There’s something healing about ocean water. It clears my mind and fills me with peace.

During this trip, I found myself reenergized — and inspired. I wrote two new poems:
✨ “Breath”
✨ “A Cleanse”

And let me be real with y’all... I’m proud of myself. My thoughts are no longer clouded like they used to be. I’m finally making space to pour out what’s been swirling in my mind — and that feels like growth.

πŸ“– Counting Down...

With my book release just weeks away, the excitement is REAL.
I’ve also made a decision: it’s time for me to step even further outside of my comfort zone.

So... I’ve chosen one of my poems to recite and perform.
I’m not exactly sure when or where it’ll happen just yet, but I will be dipping my toes back into the performance world soon. And I’m inviting you to come on this journey with me.

Stay tuned — I’ve got more to say. And this time, I’m ready to speak it out loud.
