TGIF, people.
Week two since releasing my book as a self-published author, and whew — when they say you’ve gotta be a jack of all trades, they mean it. I’m my own promoter, scheduler, content creator, and still grinding on new projects… all while juggling my regular 9-to-5 that keeps the lights on (for now).
People keep asking, “How are your sales?” And truthfully, that is one of the first things I check each morning. But honestly, there’s so much more to this journey than just the numbers. I’m pushing hard to keep the momentum going — staying creative, building my name, and putting myself out there in ways that are both exciting and terrifying.
I’ve been signing up for opportunities that scare me — but I believe the Lord planted these seeds long ago, and now it’s my job to water them and help them grow. So I’m stepping out on faith, signing up first... and freaking out later.
Being a new indie author can get lonely. You’re brand new to the industry, and every day feels like an uphill climb to get your book, your name, and your voice in front of people. And even then, attention doesn’t always equal sales. But I’ve realized my college years might’ve lowkey prepped me for this — I earned both my AA and BA in Business and Marketing. Still, it hits different when the brand you’re promoting is yourself.
I’m used to being behind the scenes — but now, I’m behind it, in front of it, and walking alongside it. And surprisingly, I feel this fire in me… this drive I haven’t felt since my twenties. I’m constantly thinking, brainstorming, praying, and asking for guidance.
The temptation to procrastinate is real. But I’m learning to fight through it. I’ve got my eyes on the prize.
I got this.

Yes, you got this DPP!! 💪🏽
